Ultrafilteration

The system, that allows you to treat waste water from gold processing, washbasins and ultrasound devices, amongst others, only requires a low start-up capital investment and zero administration costs. Due to its manageable size, it can be used in a variety of location and situations within your business. The basic ultrafiltration module is made up of a unit that separate liquids from suspended solids, colloids and other high-molecular weight matter.

Specification:

A pump makes the feed liquid flow from the collection tank through a tubular diaphragm filter: part of the liquid, which is made up of water and low-molecular weight solute, filters through the diaphragm's pores, thereby creating the permeate. The main flow, which is made up of colloids, high-molecular weight matter and suspended solids, first flows inside the diaphragm and the flows back into the feed liquid collection tank. The ratio between the two outgoing flows (permeate and concentrate) is due, if the conditions are equal, upon the amount of substances withheld by the diaphragm and tends to diminish proportionally as the concentration of the substances contained in the feed liquid increases.Compared to traditional filtration methods – where the liquid that requires filtering is forced into the filtering medium from a perpendicular angle – ultrafiltration allows the liquid to flow at a high speed in an angle parallel to the diaphragm's surface. Consequently, a self-cleaning process is started up, thereby avoiding the typical cogging that arises with conventional filtration methods. The number of filter cleaning operations diminishes and filtration can be constantly maintained at the initial levels of performance.
